Who is Expansio for?

Players who enjoy building an empire, planning military campaigns, competing for territory and working with allies, but who do not want unpredictable attack times to run their day.

It suits former Travian and OGame players who miss persistent multiplayer strategy and want a different approach to when battles happen.

It is not an idle game. Planning, regular visits, diplomacy and strategic decisions decide how far your empire goes.

What will feel familiar

An empire you develop over time. Resources to invest, research to choose, construction and training timers, armies to send, and real people to negotiate with. Your plans keep progressing after you close the browser.

Your empire keeps moving

Resources accumulate, buildings and research take time, and armies travel across the map. Check in to invest, give orders and coordinate with allies. You can make decisions throughout the day, rather than spending a fixed allowance of moves each turn.

How colonies and the economy work

Player battles follow a schedule

Sieges, raids against players and landmark battles resolve at the world's scheduled turn. Prepare before that time; you do not need to be online when the battle resolves. Raids against neutral camps resolve on arrival instead.

How combat works

No paid advantages

Expansio is free to play. There are no paid resources, paid power or paid shortcuts. Progress comes from building your economy, choosing your investments and working with other players.

A campaign with an outcome

Expand through colonies on a shared hex map, contest landmarks and defend the monument that can win you the world. Each world has an ending.

How a world is won

How do scheduled battles work?

In Expansio's worlds, battles between players resolve once a day, at the world's turn time, which the game always shows.

During the day, players develop their economies, move armies, coordinate attacks and prepare defenses. When the turn arrives, every attack on a player's empire, whether a raid or a siege, resolves at once.

You do not need to be online at that moment. What decides the outcome is how you prepared before it.

In Travian and OGame, an attack lands when the army arrives, which can be at any hour. In Expansio, you always know when the next player battles will resolve.

Room for life between visits

Expect to check in a few times a day to manage growth, scout rivals and organise your forces. More frequent visits can help you make use of completed buildings and returning armies.

Check a world's schedule before joining. If you want instant construction, a fixed number of moves per turn, or a world that pauses when you leave, Expansio plays differently.
